Road to Valencia - Part 16 π

Intro
This is an ongoing series of how I'm preparing for the marathon of Valencia, taking place on Dec 7th. I'm using Stryd to train for this event based on running power, a metric I have found very useful for the past years.
I'm ramping up my fitness, hope to finish somewhere around 3h10 / 3h15 / 3h30 / without any expectations if I start (adjusted goal due to prolonged sickness).

Rest.
Week 15 review
Overall feeling: Conflicted π
I did what I was asked to do, and rested for a whole week. I actually felt ok on Monday, however on the next days, I had severe headaches and a heavy stomach, and even felt tired, requiring a nap from time to time.
Taking it easy seems to have worked, as I started to feel good over the weekend. I'm back to working/living normally and that's also how I feel. In fact, I feel great today and I'm happy about that.
Of course, now that I'm feeling this, an inner conflict has started. If I would have remained sick, it would have been an easy decision not to run, or even to go. However, now that I feel great again, I'm wondering if I could/should still run. Not all out as originally intended, but rather at a lower intensity and experience the trip and event in full. Perhaps I'm seeking this as justification to travel to Valencia. On one hand I want to go, but if I would not run I feel I would miss out on the full experience with my friends. On the other hand, it's been hard in the family lately with the boys, so going away for 4 full days will put my wife on her own for these days, having her manage her busy work and the complete household. All while I'm away, having all the fun.
My plan for this week (if my wife feels ok with it) will be to focus on rest and nutrition, combined with a short run today to see how my body reacts. If all indicators turn green, I'm thinking of starting, without any pressure to finish. I saw the 25km marker is close to the start & finish, so I could just end my race there and meet up with my friends afterwards.
Still 5 more days before the event.
Let's see how it turns out.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
