The Proton battle continues ✍️
2 weeks ago I learned that sending to and receiving from Proton is blocked at our company. I got an error the second I sent out a mail to a @pm.me or @proton.me address.
I found this odd, so I contacted IT security, where I got as feedback that both domains are blocked due to sending phishing/spam in the past.
I understand they want to safeguard business operations. We have a big corporations and I know we are constantly under attack, with tests to our security, bringing down our domains or training to steal information.
But blocking an email provider for one rotten apple, is like using a bazooka to kill a mosquito.
I've been going back and forth with security IT about this matter, and everyone I have talked with fails to see the implications of this action. Ironically, GMail is not blocked, as too many employees use that service for any of their business purposes. Yet, the company that's all about protection the privacy of its users, is not allowed to contact us.
I'm not giving up. My battle continues. But it has been a frustrating journey so far.
