⏪ Week in rewind
💪 I'm still alive and kicking. But the moment I closed down my work laptop on the 19th, I got disconnected from being online. Not on purpose, but rather because I have a lot less "computer" time during holidays as we're constantly busy with activities with/for the boys. I had many plans to work on smaller/bigger projects over the holiday but didn't really get to them. They'll unfortunately remain in the someday list.
🎲 We played a lot of board games with the boys. It's nice they are at an age they like board games and start to become good at them as well. I'm also happy that we have different sets of games to rotate (Hotel, Carcassonne, Catan, ...), otherwise I think I would never ever wanted to play hotel again.
🖊️ I've seen a lot of people talk about pens when writing in their journal, or drawing. At first I didn't really get it, on why you need something special. But now that I write in a small daily log, I get the appeal and already bought a "Parker" pen, which brought back memories of when I was younger and used the same kind of pen.
🐼 We went to the biggest zoo in Belgium, which we visit once per year as a Christmas tradition (Also once as it's a 1.5h drive and more expensive). At this time of the year, it's freezing, yet with nice weather and much to see and do, and a lot of places to warm up, it again was a great experience for all of us. I always take lots of photos here and the boys enjoy the animals, setting and decorations. There also was a dinosaur and light animal exhibition, so every few steps I was tasked by the boys to take another photo.
🎆 As every year, we've spent New Year's eve with friends and their children. The nice thing is that we're at a large building so we all can stay overnight and no-one has to worry about driving, drinking (not that we do nowadays) or getting home. Everyone prepares 1 meal splitting the effort. This year we were tasked with breakfast, meaning we were free during New Year's eve, however, had to get up early to prepare breakfast for everyone. Not ideal, but it's only once every 5 years.
☃️ We planned to go and see a Tractor parade, however, as it snowed over the weekend and the forecast was saying more was to come, we skipped it and stayed home out of safety. To keep ourselves busy we made a snowman.

- 📺 We finished watching Sirens. We enjoyed it, although found the ending a bit over the top.
