Weekly rewind - W02 ⏪

⏪ Week in rewind
💪 The days of upset stomach, runny noses,... are over. I'm feeling great. And it shows. I've been more consistent with work, sports, ... while maintaining the busy family life. One thing I focused on heavily was my sleep time and duration. When looking back at things, I've always gone to bed late, resulting in a shorter than ideal duration. I'm now planning to be in bed by or before 22h30 to get to 8h of sleep and it helps. I feel fresh and rested in the morning, which helps with everything else.
🏃 I'm back in my running flow. After weeks of unplanned runs, I'm back on a schedule to run 5-7days. You may find it a lot, but I need it. Running helps with my mental well-being, and one thing I also learned is that the earlier I go for a run the better for my productivity and well-being during the day. But being this active after a long period of rest, makes my Garmin tell me I'm either Unproductive or Overreaching. Guess I'll have to keep going until my baseline increases.
☃️ We had a lot of snow in the past week. Even more than the weekend before. This is exceptional in Belgium so we made the most out of it. And I'm happy that Marge pushed us all to go out on Wednesday evening to play in the snow, as the next day it started melting already. With the help of garden light and headlights, we made huge snowmen and even an igloo.
⏱️ As a way to look at my productivity I started to use Super Productivity. Not as a new tool to manage my tasks, but rather at as a time tracker. You never know how much time you're spending on things unless you start measuring. And I found it to be eye-opening. I can have prolonged periods of great output, but also ones of real procrastination. By tracking, this got pretty obvious and allowed me to adjust how I manage my work. For example, more spread out breaks.
📱 I've finally sunset a game I've been playing for I don't know how many years. Maybe 10?! It's called Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. In essence a gancha game, allowing you to collect characters and form strategic teams. I loved it as a Star Wars fan, but the grind to get anything is massive. By the end of the year, I stopped being consistent with my daily progress, and when I got kicked from the Guild due to inactivity, I took it as an opportunity to reflect and quit.
🎲 Maybe my previous action was caused by playing more board games with the family. And getting more satisfaction from that. Besides the games we have at home, we've been rotating games from the library, moving from Pandemic to Wingspan now. I took some time to learn to play, and I worried if it would be too difficult for Nelson. However, as he beat me in the first game, it doesn't appear to be an issue.
