Weekly rewind - W03 ⏪

Week in rewind
Contrary to the last weeks, I'm feeling energized and focused. Almost unstoppable. Most of the time I've been running around with a smile, conveying it to others. This in turn made me more present and aware of things, taking more action and responsibility within the family. Reflecting on how I got to this state was mostly by changing my attitude and mindset, focusing on sleep time/quality and activity, and doing meditations and evening reflections.
Everything is back to normal, with work and after-school activities so a lot of my evening I'm taxiing my boys where they need to be. Contrary to last week, I've been doing most by bike so the positive mindset brought back more activity, resulting in a better feeling of wellbeing.
My youngest son had his first football match. It was very cold, but luckily he did not suffer from that. I, on the other hand, standing still had more trouble keeping my feet and hands warm...
Besides some football matches, the weekend was relatively relaxing. Yesterday we went to a plant and tree shop to buy more plants for the house and extra bird feeders and food for the garden. Almost instantly after putting them in the garden, we had jackdaws, tit birds, pigeons, a blackbird, a woodpecker and even a pheasant bird coming to have a look.
I came to realize that I'm spending too much time on my phone so I've taken action to view and review my usage while being more aware of when and how I use it (more on that in a later post).
By reducing my screen time, I'm spending less time online and on socials, but when I do, I'm more intentional. I've also taken up the habit of commenting or emailing if a post inspired or touched me, just like how being featured in a blogpost made me feel great.
Watched
Missing You (★ ★ ★ ★ ☆): A detective finds her ex on a dating app, while investigating a missing person case. Only 5 episodes but great suspense.
Number 24 (★ ★ ★ ★ ☆): Telling the story of Gunnar Sønsteby, the most successful Norwegian saboteur during WW2. Great movie on how to survive, making sure you're not getting caught and dealing with difficult tasks such as killing people who used to be friends. It also shows Gunnar in old age, presenting his story to a school and dealing with difficult questions.

- Pillars of the Earth (Ken Follet) (★ ★ ★ ★ ★): I finally finished this 41h audiobook tale of power struggles, survival, anarchy and ambition set in the 12th-century England. Just like the other books of Ken Follet, I loved this one, where character stories are woven into each other with history, making you love and hate characters and remain on the edge of your seat until the saga ends.
Apps in focus
Bear - markdown notes. I've used Bear in the past but returned to it to log and action my phone usage. Bear is perfect for this, it looks great and is easy to use (especially in combination with Drafts).
How we feel. An app I started using to log emotions and reflect on them. It looks great, is completely free and with the inclusion of AI can help dig deeper into emotions and why I'm feeling that way.
Smile app launcher / Dumb phone: As part of my actions to reduce phone usage I've turned it into a dumb one when I'm not at work. No fancy icons or notification indicators. Just plain links to each app I need most.
Fitness log
I'm slowly getting back to where I want to be, giving my body time to adjust.
- Running: 18km
