Weekly rewind - W05 ⏪
From my Sunday long run
⏪ Week in rewind
📱 I've been continuing my NAS journey, migrating photography folders for all files to be indexed and accessible through the Synology apps. This was the best upgrade/change I did in the past years, making me revisit so many memories that were hidden away. For that matter, I wrote Don't keep things tucked away (for later) ✍️ as a reminder to put processes or workflows in place to revisit important items from time to time.
💡 As my NAS is capable of running Docker containers, as a side-project, I set up Homebridge (following an easy tutorial), allowing me to control all my smart appliances that do not support Apple HomeKit out of the box. As a next project, I'm looking into Linkding/linkwarden, as my company does not allow me to use Raindrop.io as a bookmark tool, and I really want 1 place for all bookmarks, accessible via all platforms.
📊 I've spent a lot of time working on an Excel csv file containing 150k rows with a lot of data. Some executives proposed that AI could help with filtering and formatting; however, that did not work at all. It either messed up or returned less output. In the end, I spent hours working on the file, and I'm happy the job is finished. Meanwhile, Excel posted on their socials the launch of Agent mode. Guess we're almost at AGI, right?
✍️ I'm happy to see that the troubles meadow experienced are over. My guestbook is back online!
🚀 I've been having a blast with my Pagecord blog last week. While I already tried it in August, only last week something clicked in my mind and I actively started using it for updates and photos. I know, I have notes and snapshots here, but Pagecord makes it really easy to publish and removes constraints. As Darren or Becky recently wrote, we sometimes put high expectations on what we do, eventually limiting it. For anyone curious, you can find it at bits.gobino.be.
🏃 I had a really good running week, getting out 6 days. I feel that consistency is paying off. On Sunday, I had an unplanned long run, pressed for time as I needed to meet someone in the family, but even as I had to speed up, that did not cause any issues. So running is going smoother, my HR and recovery is going down, and my pace is increasing.
📺 Watched
📺 We started watching Fool me once.
🎞️ As I'm a huge James Bond fan and all movies are available for a short time on Netflix, I watched No time to die (4/5).
🎞️ I also watched The amateur, of a CIA cryptographer who goes on a revenge mission once his wife is killed. A bit too perfect at times in his execution, but entertaining nonetheless (3/5).
📚 Reading
I've been quiet on the reading front. Looking for a new audiobook since I finished Beneath a scarlet sky.
📱 Apps in focus
A new update is coming this week.
In the meantime, view my full App library or read some of my individual entries.
