Weekly rewind - W06 ⏪
Early soccer game, but the sun was on our side.
⏪ Week in rewind
✂️ I've had enough of my procrastination, so I decided to take action. The biggest issue I found is that I kept my personal and work items open in the same browser, except in a different workspace. That made it very easy for me to just have a peek at the other side, and unknowingly lose a lot of time. Everything I do of private stuff is now done with Zen, which I only open during breaks. As I also already used Freedom, I set some sites on a blocking schedule, forcing me to start my day working instead of checking RSS or anything else that could derail me. So far, it worked great.
🔖 I finally managed to get Raindrop kind of working on my office computer. By temporarily disabling our web-security, I was able to install and log in. And strangely, once I re-enabled all security, I could still access Raindrop, albeit only via the side panel. And its "RD" command also doesn't work. However, I'm still happy. Now I can keep my personal and work bookmarks in sync and available wherever I need them.
🏃 I had another great week of running, again, for 6 days straight (Tue-Sun). I'm switching recovery sessions with minor intervals, and that seems to work well. On Sunday, I decided to do a little fitness test that would require me to go all out for 30 minutes. Both Garmin and Stryd gave me a pace suggestion, but once I was out, I decided to speed up as things felt great. I quickly paid the penalty. After 15 minutes, I had to slow down, and had to do it a few more times afterwards. Lesson learned.
🎒 Bart is currently taking time off from school after a thorough discussion. But only for 2 weeks. The idea is to decompress and remove any kind of stimulus to help him relax. And it seems to be helping. He's less on edge, and so are we. And now we're building a game plan for his return so he can continue learning while not suffering. I hope it helps him, as I recently wrote how hard it all is on us.
✍️ I passed 2 weeks of actively publishing updates on bits.gobino.be, my Pagecord side-project, and I feel it somehow set me free. I know there are no obligations for what I do here, but as I started fresh, it felt like I could do whatever I wanted to do. Going with the flow and experimenting. I've never published as many photos as I have now. There are no rules, and when I'm out, I feel I'm seeing a lot more than before. Maybe it's still the honeymoon of a new tool, but I hope I can continue.
📺 Watched
📺 We're slowly continuing with Fool me once.
🎞️ After the weekend we watched the Bee movie. Normally, the twins aren't up fora movie, but this one caught their attention, marking the first one we all watched together.
