Weekly rewind - W11-12-13 ⏪

I started writing this more than three weeks ago with the idea of publishing directly afterward. However, life, and especially work, took over, and here we are, writing a rewind for the past three weeks. It almost feels silly to publish today, but I'm going ahead anyway, not delaying this even longer.
⏪ Weeks in rewind
👦 We're still in the same routine with Bart and his medication and part-time schooling, taking the pressure off at home. While it still doesn't entirely show at school, I'm happy that we are able to have a normal family and life again. We've also met up with another autism support coach who recommended a good psychologist to support us at home and school. Because however easy we might have it nowadays, Bart again needs to get into a normal school regime, and the sooner the better. Let's see after the Easter holidays.
🏃♂️ Sport-wise, I've been doing great. It's been a long time since I felt this way. I keep running daily, with the exception of Sunday two weeks ago. I don't do it for the streak, but it helps to keep going. The training program from Stryd works really well to keep increasing my fitness while not creating a high risk of injuries, so that's very motivating. And I feel great as well. Besides running, I'm heavily focusing on recovery with protein intake, box breathing, and making sure I get enough sleep.
🏅 Sunday two weeks ago, I did my first ever 10 km race. It wasn't planned. My brother-in-law asked me if I wanted to join him, so I did-without resting my legs, special preparation, or nutrition. I also didn't bring my racing shoes. I just took it as part of my training to check my actual fitness, and I must say I was quite pleased. I ran my fastest 10 km ever. It was a great test to run fast from the start and play the mental game to keep going even if I felt like stopping.
🔋 My energy and focus levels have improved. I've enabled more routines and blockers, which helped. I've had fewer days of inactivity and many more days ending with a feeling of accomplishment. It's also extremely busy at work, creating pressure that in turn makes me thrive. Of course, the time I'm spending on work and running results in less time writing for this blog. And unfortunately, the less time I'm spending here, the fewer actions or thoughts pop into my mind.
📷 While I've been horrible at publishing snapshots here, I'm maintaining a daily photo streak, coming up to 65 days on Bits. The workflow of shooting with mood.camera, slight editing with Darkroom, and copy/pasting to Pagecord is low friction enough to ensure I keep going.
🎉 The weekends have been nice, with easy and busy moments. Soccer season is still in full swing, so every Saturday I'm joining Nelson for his games. Besides those, we had nice birthday celebrations for my dad and mother-in-law, and I went to a party for a friend I hadn't seen in 15 years.
📺 Watched
📺 Samber (4/5). We completed this series on a serial rapist terrorizing the Samber area from the '80s until 2018. Great watch, and well done in highlighting a character each episode.
🎞️ Gladiator 2 (3/5). Great spectacle but didn't reach the level of the original.
🎞️ Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man (3.5/5). We enjoyed the original series and soundtrack very much, so we were looking forward to the movie. It again has a great soundtrack and continues its well-known atmosphere and characters. It left me craving more since everything was
📚 Reading
- 🎧 I already finished Don't Let Go by Harlan Coben (4.5/5). I really like the writing and the story of a cop's killing that brings other events from 15 years earlier to light. Thumbs up for the voice acting of John Chancer, which really lifts the story to a higher level.
📱 Apps in focus
I haven't gotten to writing a new "in focus" yet, but I did try many. So expect an update on that front soon.
🏋️ Fitness log
- 🏃 Running: 65 km / 51 km / 57 km
