Weekly rewind - W17 ⏪
Nerves kicking in at the 10miles start line.
While there were reason for my last rewind to cover 3 weeks, I was keen on getting this one out in time. It's still relatively late, but I'm happy I managed to finish it. A small step to get things moving again.
⏪ Week in rewind
🏀 The sports focus at home is changing. While we've been busy with football for 5 years, Nelson indicated he no longer wants to continue. Milhouse already stopped with football earlier this year, and both expressed their wish to play basketball with some of their classmates. Last week, they both had their first training and enjoyed themselves. It'll be a change, but as long as they are happy, so are we.
👦 Bart is doing great. He's still on his medication and going part time to school, but we notice how changed and happy he has become. The teachers are also saying that he's more approachable so everything is going in the right direction. That being said, he's still far off from being a normal student again. He still doesn't have homework, as his brother does have, and the tasks he has to perform at school are much easier than what he should be learning. So, while we're happy with the current situation, we're also worried about what's to come next, as he can't go on like this forever.
🏅 I ran the 10 miles of Antwerp, an event which I've ran many times before. This year marked the 40th anniversary edition with 40.000 runners, spread throughout 10 waves. Luckily, I was able to start in the first one so I didn't have too many issues with passing slower participants. And it showed, as I ran my fastest 10 miles ever. I finished in 1h9min, well below my 1h10min target. This shows that my training and all the hours I invested in it is paying off.
🖥️ Work was crazy-busy last week, like the weeks before. But I like it. This pressure keeps me focused and while I have a lot to do, I'm able to cope with it rather well. This also results in me being more involved and becoming visual in our organization, resulting in some praise from other managers and even the head of our department. What I take from this is that even in moments of calm, I should try to remain visible and active. Because the more I moved towards the background, the more disconnected I became.
📺 Watched
I didn't really watch much, except, as last week, kept level with Daredevil born again season 2.
