⏪ Week in rewind
🤧🏃I feel at a loss. I don't know what to do. At the start of the week I was feeling great and did all my runs as planned, but I started to feel more tired at the end of the week. My HRV (heart rate variability) showed this decline as well, but thinking that my troubles were behind me, I did my final interval session on Friday evening. I never had issues and even felt really great afterwards. I kept my focus on running & recovery, so after my shower and some recovery exercises, I went to bed early. It all went to plan. But during the night I woke up a few times, and as I thought during those moments, I was back to where I started when I woke up in the morning. Feeling tired, a slight headache and a runny nose. I decided to take it easy, and again, did not do my long run. Doubt is creeping in. My marathon is in 3 weeks, and I haven't even ran more than 25km during any long run. I want to, I need to, but I don't want to risk it. Additionally, every day I'm doubting what to do. Today I'm feeling ok, but I didn't want to run, not to jeopardize my long run (last and only one) which I plan to do on Saturday.
🚴 With 11/11 being a public holiday (Remembrance Day) in Belgium I was able to attend a cyclocross race** with Nelson and my dad. It's been a while since I attended this cycling through mud and sand event, so it was particularly nice to revisit it and spend some time together with the men.
👻 I feel I've been a bit absent (online) last week. Sure, I was off Monday and Tuesday (which were busy days), but afterwards didn't catch up on things as I usually do, reading all great articles or my RSS feeds. Nor have I been too active in publishing new articles, posting snapshots, or spend time in the social.lol Mastodon community. And I know I shouldn't, but I feel I've been letting people down, providing them the support, or acknowledging their efforts, but I couldn't find the energy to do it all.
🥳 We had the class birthday party of Nelson, and chose for an off-site location instead of doing it at home. We went for a sensation quest where we had to use our senses to be able to solve the mystery. Not something I've done before, but it was fun.
🥂🍟 We had another of our cava and fries meetups with friends, enjoying a drank and chat together, before we all feast on fries.
📧 My Proton saga is still on-going. I've been chatting with more IT security people, but currently everything of Proton email is still blocked to and from our company. At first they were asking me to get in touch with Proton, asking them what measures they have in place regarding spam protection. But now they case is being reviewed by a senior specialist. Let's see of that changes anything.
