Weekly rewind - W47 ⏪
Belgian winter weather
Week in rewind
We've had all kinds of weather this week, with sun, rain and even hail. The temperatures have also been all over the place with winterly cold days ending with t-shirt weather Yesterday. Which became the hottest Nov 24th since the start of the measurements here in Belgium.
I'm not sure if it's due to the weather but my body and mind have also been all over the place. I've not been feeling too motivated or productive, and just when I was feeling a bit better, I again experienced some sickness. Not enough to stop working, but enough to be cranky and not motivated to do anything.
We celebrated the 8th birthday of my oldest son with the whole family. He was counting the days and asking every available moment when everyone would arrive for his party. I do like these moments when we all get together and talk, but unfortunately, my experience was a bit less pleasant as I needed aspirin to get through the day.
I restarted my interest in photography by checking out and joining Glass, a photography community without ads and algorithms. At first, I was lost as my feed remained empty, but after checking out some categories I found people to follow and interact with. Of all the photography tools I've used, I do like the UI and IX of Glass. While I'll continue using Glass for inspiration and sharing, I believe that in the end, Bear (this or another blog) will be the way of how I'll share everything (with some distribution to socials).
This regained interest also made me use my trusted Fujifilm XT-20 more. But while I love the experience more than doing it with my phone, I don't have the habit of carrying it with me so I can use it when an opportunity arrives. I think this is due to portability and convenience (the workflow after shooting) so I started looking for some alternatives. I would love to get an X100VI but as they are nowhere to be found, I think I'll just use my pancake lens with my XT-20 to see if I'll really carry it more often.
While due to my health and motivational issues I did not write much, I'm happy to have implemented Webmentions on this blog and a tutorial on how you can do it too.
