Weekly rewind - W48 ⏪

⏪ Week in rewind
🖥️ I'm back to work after a week of resting. At first it felt strange not to do anything for a week, but when I was writing I'm not a malingerer ✍️ on Wednesday I actually had a terrible headache and fuzzy head. So resting was the right thing to do. And it took until Friday before things started to change. I wake up normal on Saturday and was extremely happy about this. It's ironic that we never think about or celebrate our health until we experience issues.
❓ As I felt better on Friday, I went to a quiz with friends. It's our yearly tradition to attend this quiz where we often compete for victory. Also this year, where after a slow start and 9th spot at the intermission, we managed to come out on top with 1 point difference. We got a nice basket with food and drinks, making the family happy, as I got crisps for the boys and some food and drinks for my wife.
🎁 We celebrated Saint-Nicholas, at work over the weekend, who came bearing gifts for all children who behaved during the year. Quite fun, that although my boys are getting older, they still believe and behave more when Saint-Nicholas is around the corner. Or perhaps it's the anticipation for the gifts they'll get.
📔 I'm writing this weekly rewind with the help of my analog notebook. Perhaps as I was sick last week and kept the notebook close-by, but I've been consistent in writing in it, daily. Mostly about events, thoughts, feelings,... I also kept track of my habits, story/event of the day, and as much wins as possible. It feels satisfying to write, something I want to do and it's also much easier to scan through everything, instead of querying my digital notes. And I'm dedicating time every morning to update the past day, and prepare for the upcoming one. Due to this analog writing, I've also been doing much better with updating my Obsidian daily log, doing some interstitial journaling during the day instead of writing everything (and sometime forgetting/postponing) in the evening.
🏗️ I've been doing some housekeeping to this blog, fixing the dates of my popular posts that somehow got broken, and updated the popular posts with all recent ones that performed best/better. Quite ironic that Manual note-taking/journaling dilemma ✍️ became my best performing piece, while it was a really quick (but honest) piece I wrote, and others on which I spent way more time didn't get the same level of attention. Not that I write for clicks and likes, but to show that you don't need to overthink on a post for it to be read by others.
📺 Watched
📺 With all the resting, I managed to see a few more Viking episodes, and together with my wife started watching The beast in me. So far it's great and suspenseful.
🎞️ Fantastic Four: First steps. While I initially binged all Marvel movies, I stopped when they went for quantity instead of quality. However, lately, I enjoyed the Thunderbolts and found this Fantastic Four movie, set in the 1960s quite appealing. (3.5/5)
