Week in rewind
After a few weeks of searching for an X100VI, I finally found one and got it delivered on last Monday. Strangely, when receiving it, at first, I felt hesitant to use it. Looking back, it was the feeling of being overwhelmed of starting fresh. Which settings to apply, how to set the receipe look of my photos, … Luckily, I quickly overcame this feeling. I take my X100VI wherever I go and constantly experiment with its settings. It also evokes much deeper emotions when taking a shot than doing it via my phone. Perhaps it’s because we use our phones for everything, that we are too used to them, so taking photos with them feels a bit plain. I don’t know. …
I decided to give Drafts another go.
Drafts (iOS, MAC) is an app defining itself as the place where your text starts before you distribute it where needed. I used it a year ago, but it never became a habit, so I abandoned it. Seeing others recommending it and Drafts offering 50% of the first year ($9.99) I gave it another spin. I'm still doing some tests but so far, use it for email and text drafts, reminders, shopping lists and calendar events. My health is finally improving. Due to time constraints, I haven’t been able to do any sports, but the focus to get active again is growing. With the Christmas holidays, I should have some time to get my running going again. I’m quite curious how much fitness I’ve lost due to inactivity.
Last Friday I enjoyed a local quiz with some friends. It’s a running tradition in December to attend a specific quiz and go for dinner together beforehand. We always finish in the best 5 (out of 40 teams), which was also the case for this year, reaching 3rd place missing only half a point to become 2nd.
With the passing of the father of the wife of my brother in law (I know it’s a handful), as well as reaching 45 next year, I’m reflecting more on life and its endlessness. I’ve therefore started to be more purposeful about everything I do to make the one life I have count.
I’ll be enjoying my Christmas holidays as of now, yet in doing this will be less in the surroundings of a computer. I assume I’ll not be as active for the next 2 weeks. So let me use this opportunity to thank you for being here and supporting me on my journey.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

One additional episode last week but the intrigue as well as the beautiful setting of Japan in the early 1600s keep me engaged.

Fuji X weekly: If you’re in the Fujifilm ecosystem you need to have this app installed or at least have bookmarked its website to get recipes for beautiful jpgs straight out of the camera.
Tana is the PKM tool I use for work that connects everything of notes, people, companies, documents, … and tasks. I used Obsidian, but while I’m a big fan, it isn’t as flexible as Tana. I’ve been using it for 1.5 years already and am happy they finally launched a complete mobile that lets me access and edit everything of my work on the go.
